Yesterday I applied for and received my international driver's license. I called to check the status of my visa this morning, and it's still not ready. NOT GOOD. My plan was to take a half-day from work on Friday, picking the shit up in Chicago that morning. If I call tomorrow and it's still not ready, that means I probably won't waste my time on Friday. That also means I'll have to count on it coming in on Monday. I'll then have to drive to Chicago on Monday morning (or Sunday night?) then all the way back to Rochester. If it still hasn't come in on Monday, I will have to count on it coming in on Tuesday, and make it back to Rochester for my 5.00 flight that goes back to Chicago anyway. It'd be nice if I could just pick up from the flight there, but unfortunately, that's not how it works. If I missed the Rochester-Chicago portion, the rest of my ticket would automatically be canceled. I could, however, pay the $150 or whatever to change the ticket. LAME. I still have to get up to Rochester at some point too. This is stressful.

In other news, I finally told Carla, the mail lady, that I'm leaving. I was disappointed because she wasn't as disappointed as I'd hoped. OH WELL. She's leaving on a two-week vacation after tomorrow, so if any sort of friendship between us is going to blossom, it's gotta happen tomorrow. We'll see what happens.

Starting after my lunch break today, I'm going to start training someone in to do my job. WTFETSG.
